Selfied

I went for a big hike in the redwood forest to celebrate my birthday. I took this picture to capture the moment. The tree was saying, "Get out of the way dumb human, he's trying to take a picture of me!"

Spuds

The secret to my success is this photo. I look at it whenever I feel overwhelmed. It makes me feel okay again.

The Crater

One of my relatives died, and I inherited this crater hole from them. I'm going to have a pool installed. You can come by come by anytime and take a swim with me. It's my way of making up for not having spoken with you in a while.

R. Ann

Hi, it's R. Ann. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you. I miss being a guest at your tea parties. Even though it was only pretend tea, I went along with it at the time.

But now that you are older, maybe we can have a real tea. I'm at Duckster's resale shop in Trenton, New Jersey. I'm under the stained Barney.

The Tour

I took a tour with God through the tungsten steel factory.

I asked if God was amazed at our human ingenuity to take minerals from the ground and transform them into useful instruments.

God said, “I guess.”

I asked God about the seeming indifference in vocal tone.

God said, “It’s just that you seem like you constantly want my approval. It’s exhausting.”

We walked in silence for a while. We ended up at the factory’s gift shop. When God wasn’t looking, I ordered an engraved steel cup. When it was done I handed the cup to God.

God read the engraving out loud, “Just a dumb old cup.” God smiled and gave me a hug.

The Duck

The duck said, "Hey, down here."

I asked what it wanted.

The duck said, "I just wanted to say hi."

I wanted to resist the duck because I had places to be, but it's a duck. What could I do?

Stars

Last night I couldn't sleep because all the stars wouldn't stop shining. So I went outside and yelled at the sky to keep it down.

The stars said, "But we did this for you."

Right

This morning I took a walk through the Weeping Willow forest with God. God said, "What is it this time, Brooks?"

I said, "Can you fix it so that I stop thinking that I'm right and others are wrong."

God said, "I already balanced that out by making others think that you are wrong and they are right."

I said, "Well, shouldn't I at least try to think differently?"

God said, "You're trying to fix something that's not broken."

The Rock

The rock said, "I want to be seen by the world."

I said okay and put it on the internet.

The rock said, "I don't feel any different."

I said yep.

Wonder

I was walking through Central Park when I came across Donald Trump sitting on a bench tossing bread crumbs to pigeons.

One of my favorite things in the world is feeding critters, so I asked if I could join Mr. Trump. He said yes and reached into a bag and gave me a whole loaf of Wonder Bread.

I hadn't seen a W. Bread since I was a tot. I loved the Wonder because it never needed a spread. I would put a slice in my mouth and all my little kid problems would disappear!

Out on a boat with Kasich

Last night I took a row boat out on Lake Erie with Republican Presidential candidate Governor John Kasich. Governor Kasich told me about Lake Erie which he said was built during his administration as an aid to the people who wanted to be fishermen.

I asked if he was sad that he wasn't winning any of the primaries. He said he was kind of down but was hoping the boat ride would cheer him up.

I said being sad was not a bad thing. It was created by the Universe as a contrast to being happy, so happy would be noticed.

Governor Kasich let himself have a good cry. When he was done I handed him a cheese sandwich from the cooler. He smiled and said, "I see what you mean."
